1. Who I am

Conscious Weddings is a sole-trader business run by Amanda Quartey.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the data controller for the personal information I collect and use in connection with my business.

I only collect information that is relevant and reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Creating a personal and meaningful ceremony can involve sharing stories and information that are private or deeply personal.

You are always in control of what you choose to share with me.

I use this information only as necessary to understand your wishes and create and deliver your ceremony. I treat the information you share with care and confidentiality and do not sell or share your personal stories for advertising purposes.

If you choose to share information that is considered special category data under UK data protection law, I will only process it where I have an appropriate lawful basis and, where required, an additional legal condition.

6. Who I share your information with

I do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

I use a small number of trusted services to operate my business. These include:

Wix

My website is hosted and operated using Wix. Information you provide through my website may therefore be processed by Wix on my behalf.

Calendly

I use Calendly to allow you to book appointments with me.

When you make a booking through Calendly, the information you provide is processed by Calendly and shared with me so that I can arrange your appointment.

Calendly is connected to my Google Calendar. This connection allows Calendly to check my calendar availability, prevent double bookings and add appointments to my calendar.

Google Calendar

I use Google Calendar to manage my appointments and availability. Information relating to appointments may therefore be stored in my Google account.

Other service providers

I may also share information where reasonably necessary with:

• Payment providers, when processing payments

• My accountant or professional advisers, where necessary

• Government authorities or other organisations where I am legally required to provide information

I only share information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

7. International transfers

Some of the companies whose services I use, including Wix, Calendly and Google, may process personal information outside the UK.

Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, appropriate safeguards will be used where required by UK data protection law to ensure that your information receives an appropriate level of protection.

8. How long I keep your information

I do not keep personal information for longer than is reasonably necessary.

The length of time I keep information depends on what it is and why I need it.

Generally:

• Enquiry information that does not lead to a booking will be kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up.

• Information relating to a booking will normally be kept for as long as necessary to provide the service and deal with reasonable follow-up matters.

• Financial and business records will be retained for as long as required by applicable legal and accounting requirements.

• Information relating to a dispute or potential legal claim may be kept for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with that matter.

When information is no longer required, I will take reasonable steps to securely delete or dispose of it.

9. How I protect your information

I take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.

This includes using reputable service providers and appropriate account and password security.

However, no method of storing or transmitting information electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

My website is hosted by Wix and uses essential cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the website to operate properly.

I do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising trackers or similar marketing/analytics tracking technologies on my website.

If I introduce non-essential cookies or tracking technologies in the future, I will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, obtain your consent before using them.

11. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information.
